In His Shadow

A herd's "social dynamic" fascinates me.  Oberon is not always a warm fuzzy... he can be quite forceful when it comes to being fed grain.  He may be the smallest, but he gets quite bossy and bold at feeding time.  But here he is, snuggling up to Sebastian, enjoying that long Friesian tail...

Not much space between them this afternoon...

Sebastian started to walk away and Oberon just followed and kept trying to nuzzle him.  :)

It's nice that they're friends. Our littlest guy is a bit of a pain at feeding time too. Cute pictures.

I always love to watch the alpha horse ~ always watching, always on guard, always bossing others ~ it must be an exhausting job.

Love to see how the pecking order turns out too. We bumped up the yearling with the older horse which is so good for the older guy. The yearling grooms Sail and takes care of him. Sometimes I know Sail must get so tired of being the babysitter.
