I came across an interesting blog "The Hoof Blog". The website describes itself this way:
The website is "About Hoofcare & Lameness Journal and Fran Jurga's Hoof Blog". Hoofcare Publishing chronicles progress in the art and science of preventing, recognizing and treating lameness problems in horses. Written for and by the dedicated professionals from all fields who are at work in this rewarding pursuit, Hoofcare supports a diverse worldwide community of subscribing professionals via an award-winning journal, a website, a blog, and a source for reference books and media.
Two posts that feature the above movie "War Horse" coming out DECEMBER 25th!! are highlighted on this blog in the below links:
November 30, 2011 "New from War Horse": Off Screen Actors Speak on the Film (and the Horse)
Another post was done on June 29, 2011: War Horse: The Movie!
I know what our family will be getting in our stockings Christmas morning! Movie tickets.
do you know if this film will be shown internationally? i am based in the UK, it look like something i would enjoy and i am a little intrigued.
ReplyDeleteBe careful..one just heard from one of my horse clients about the movie. While a wondetful story of love..its about war and gore and.a bit brutal. Animals are hurt and killed in scenes and me...I'm waiting to rent it. I'm way too sensitive for a public place watching that. I may need to pause and even refrain if I get upset.
ReplyDeleteI was going to see it on Christmas with my.husband. I'm thinking better of it now.
I'll read the review from Focus
on the Family's movie site.
KK
KK... Oh my. Yes, I can't bring my younger kids to this... what was I thinking? But I will see it on the big screen as I bet it will be quite artistically done, but I will bring my kleenex! I know this was done without hurting any animals, but it does reflect a time in history none of us should ever forget.
ReplyDeleteEquestrian Clearance - hmm... I don't know. How often do American Hollywood movies make it over to the UK? Never thought of that... I know I can Netflix quite a few movies from Masterpiece Theatre (which I love... isn't that from on your side of the water? :) Do you know what Netflix is?
We'll be going to see this too but not on Christmas Day. We'll wait until the theaters clear out a little.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it might be upsetting to some of us and children, but it is a war movie so we have to expect that.
I can't wait to see that movie! I'm sure it will be a total tearjerker, so not sure if I will watch it in the theater, but then again I may since I have no plans for Christmas day as we're being forced to celebrate a week early. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the hoof blog. I'm always interested in more hoof reading. :)
Can't wait to see this movie!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the previews on TV, looks interesting... brought tears to my eyes, I'll probably bawl like a baby if I watch the movie itself! LoL! =)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea you had about the one barn photo & a book... but she's wanting some kind of collage. The more I look at the collage I posted, though, the more I realize it's just too 'busy' & won't look good hanging on the wall. But, if I have less pics, like 4 or 6, it would need to be an even number, maybe that would look better... but how close to the edge of the canvas (& how close together) should I have covered w/ the pics themselves or should the pics cover the entire canvas?
I really appreciate your input & stopping to comment!
I responded to your comment on my blog, but I like to respond on your blog too so that you don't miss it. Here is what I wrote:
ReplyDeleteMargaret, sorry for spiking your trailer anxiety! I can totally relate. It makes me anxious too.
Poor Oberon. I'm glad he was okay. Chrome's reaction actually surprised me because when he's tied if he does test the rope it's only for a tiny second and he steps back forward. He rarely ever sets back like that on the rope.
Friesians are great aren't they? :D They truly are really awesome horses. I love their personalities and calm demeanor. I'm glad you're enjoying your boy too.
Thank you for following me! I look forward to reading more comments from you. :)
You know I hadn't even thought of that on the breakaway . . . that would have been terrifying. He could have bashed his head on the trailer. I'm glad I had his rope halter on and that it hung up tight enough that he couldn't get a read leg off the side of the ramp. I was so worried he would cut himself. I'm glad you're considering a rope halter in the trailer too. I think sometimes the break away halters can be more dangerous. I'm definitely getting one of those tie rings as soon as I can! I've been wanting one for a long time, but didn't really need one since my guy ties so well, but I never thought to use it on the trailer. That's genius. That would be a great way to teach him to not panic when he feels tension in the trailer.
